First meet up – Birmingham 4 July
by George Julian
We have been delighted with the enthusiasm that you social care types have responded to the offer of curry! There has been so much interest that we’ve decided to go for a soft launch, a sort of trial run, next week in Birmingham at Al Faisals. We appreciate that lots of people wont be able to travel to the West Midlands at such short notice, but if you can please do. You can book your tickets here, it doesn’t cost anything for a ticket (although you’ll need to fork out for your own food and drink) but booking will allow us to know numbers so we can get a table. You’ll also be able to see who else is coming:
We’ve had 30 responses to the survey about which night you prefer and the vast majority of people weren’t fussed, Thursdays snuck ahead as the second preference. So our current plan is to meet quarterly, on the first Thursday of the month. This means that the dates for the rest of this calendar year that you need to book out in your diary now are Thursday 5 September and Thursday 5 December. Given the geographic spread of interest we’re anticipating that we’ll have a number of meet ups on the same evening and we’ll connect between by hashtag on twitter if there’s appetite to do so. Of course you’re welcome to attend any meet up so you don’t just need to meet the same people each time.
If you can join us next week we’d love to see you, if not Matt and George will eat curry and chastise themselves for being so responsive/last minute in organising. More about the later dates in due course, watch this space.
